From the fall of 2020 Denver International Airport (DEN) opened its doors to their brand new expansion projects for the A-West, B-West, B-East & C-East concourses, at one of the world’s busiest airports.

The expansion provided A-West with the addition of 12 gates, including six for international flights and 16 new waiting areas; the expansion at Concourse B-West included four new gates and six new waiting areas; the Concourse B-East expansion features seven new gates, including three that replaced the previous regional-size gates.

With all of this new concourse space, DEN needed a truly robust yet beautiful seating solution to stand up to the rigorous demands of the 77,000,000 passengers per year passing through the United States largest airport. Zoeftig were exclusively contracted to supply high-density beam seating for the new spaces with our industry leading Zenky Plus seating range.

Working with the airport’s senior team as well as, Gallun Snow, HNTB, & Jacobs, Zoeftig fulfilled a technical brief providing them with a bespoke seating design that will stand the test of time, as well as raising the passenger experience & meeting the needs of DEN’s travellers to levels exceeding anything seen before.

Passenger inclusivity was a major consideration for the whole project, and we’re proud to deliver a fully ADA/PRM/WC compliant specification — a testament to DEN’s levels of dedication to the passenger experience.

The specification used across DEN comprises of our Zenky Plus seating range with split back seating, finished in black Gen-Phoenix Eleather, double arm spacing giving passengers the room & comfort they need, steel cup holders throughout, and 100% power saturation meaning that every seat place is catered for with options to keep laptops, phones and tablets happy on the move.
