Central America’s busiest airport, Tocumen International Airport, has recently opened a second terminal to increase its overall capacity by 50 per cent.

Located 13 miles from Panama City, the capital of Panama, the airport serves as a regional hub to South, North and Central America and the Caribbean, while also operating international flights to Europe and Asia.

Handling over 16.5 million passengers in 2019, the new 116,000 square metre terminal will increase the airport’s capacity to around 25 million passengers, boosting its reputation as a world class hub.

To help accommodate higher passenger volumes, Tocumen International Airport installed over 3,500 of Zoeftig’s inFINITE seating solutions throughout its new 20-gate terminal.

Designed with simplicity in mind, inFINITE’s flexible beamless design and patented rapid product reconfigurability allows continuous runs of seating to be easily adapted to meet the ever changing needs of the terminals.

Ideal for busy airports such as Tocumen International Airport, the durable and resilient seating has created a premium waiting area that offers passengers maximum comfort and support.

Paul Williams, CEO of Zoeftig, said: “We are delighted to have contributed to Tocumen International Airport’s expansion project by providing our award winning inFINITE seating solutions for its new terminal. We wish the airport all the best as its passenger volumes continue to grow and look forward to growing our relationship further in the future.”
