Inaugurated by Indonesia’s President, Joko Widodo, in December 2019, Syamsudin Noor International Airport’s new terminal is officially open to the public.

Located 25km from Banjarmasin, the capital of South Kalimantan, the airport is now able to handle seven million passengers per year due its new 77,000 square meter terminal, which is eight times larger than the old terminal.

The development project, which also includes the construction of a new cargo building and the expansion of the airport apron, is part of Angkasa Pura Airports’ ongoing commitment to improve its airport services throughout Indonesia.

As part of this development, Syamsudin Noor International Airport installed 1,000 of Zoeftig’s high quality inFINITE seating solutions throughout the new terminal. Upholstered in black PU, the stylish seating perfectly complements the bright expanses of glazing and playful flooring featured in the open plan space, while adequately handling the increase in passenger footfall. The award winning seating solutions also feature a beamless design, which supports reconfiguration at any time, helping accommodate higher passenger volumes.

To meet the needs of today’s interconnected travelers, Zoeftig’s Charge Plus Power units were also specified in between seats, allowing passengers to quickly charge their devices while they relax and wait for their flight.

Paul Williams, CEO of Zoeftig, said: “We are delighted to have expanded our product reach to South Kalimantan, Indonesia, by providing our stylish inFINITE seating solutions to Syamsudin Noor International Airport. We are pleased to have contributed to the airport’s expansion project and look forward to a long lasting relationship.”
